Letters & Stories From the Elms

Allie Shambaugh-Miller, a student at Drake University, volunteered as an intern with the Bess Streeter Aldrich Foundation during the summer of 2021. She accepted the very important job of helping the Foundation make a commemorative item for the Aldrich House’s 100th Birthday. During her time with us, she put together a collection of letters written by Mrs. Aldrich during her years in Elmwood. Besides letters written to her publisher and fans, the collection includes letters written to good friend Marie Clements and several other documents related to the Aldrich House. Entitled “Letters from Elms.”
